Hinton Center is nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina, just eight miles North of Georgia and forty miles East of Tennessee. The Clay County Courthouse is located in the center of a quaint, tree-filled town square in Hayesville. Completed in 1889, it is an example of Venacular Italianate architecture. The Courthouse is listed on the National Registry of Historic Buildings and is still in use today.
